Everything KVRNL ships is free to use, but each app is unlocked by a license key tied to a free account. To start, create an account with your email and a password.
You'll get a verification email from kvrnl.io@gmail.com — click the link to confirm your address. If it isn't in your inbox, check Spam or Promotions (adding us to your contacts keeps our mail where it belongs).
Yes — every KVRNL app is free to use under a personal license. No trials, no feature gates, no subscriptions, ever. The free account and license key simply keep your copy yours and unlock silent updates. There's more on the about page and in the FAQ.
Most desktop tools ask for a subscription, phone home with telemetry, or live in a browser tab. KVRNL takes the opposite approach — free, private, and native. Here's the short version:

KVRNL tools run locally on your machine — no telemetry, no analytics, no tracking. Your files, folders, and sessions never leave your device. The only thing we store is your account email and which license keys you hold. Full details are in our privacy policy.
Once you're signed in, open the store, add the tools you want to your cart, and run the free checkout. There's no payment — checkout simply mints a license key for each tool and links it to your account.
Your keys and download links live in your account permanently, so you can re-download or copy a key anytime.
From your account or a product page, download the installer and run it. KVRNL apps install per-user, so there's no admin prompt.
Because our installers aren't code-signed yet, Windows SmartScreen may show a “Windows protected your PC” notice on first run — click More info → Run anyway. After the first install, every app updates itself silently with no further prompts.
KVRNL apps run on Windows today. They're lightweight, install per-user (no admin prompt needed), and update themselves silently once installed. Browse everything on the products page.
The first time you launch a KVRNL app it asks for your license key. Paste the key from your account and activate.
A key binds to one computer on activation — that's our simple anti-abuse measure. The same key won't activate a second machine until you release it from the first (see below).
Switching machines? Open your account, find the tool, and click Release device. That frees the key from the old computer instantly.
Then install the app on the new machine and activate with the same key. If the old machine is still running the app, it locks itself within a few seconds of the release.
KVRNL apps update themselves. After the first install you never download manually again — new versions download in the background and install silently, usually within an hour of release. See what's new on the changelog.
KVRNL apps install per-user, so removing one is standard: open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find the app, and choose Uninstall. Your license key stays in your account, so you can reinstall and re-activate anytime — nothing is lost.
