Terms of Use — KVRNL

Welcome to KVRNL. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the KVRNL website (kvrnl.io) and our software applications ("Apps"). By creating an account, claiming a license key, or using an App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use KVRNL.

1. Free to use, not open source

Every KVRNL App is free to use — no fees, no trials, no subscriptions. Free doesn't mean open source, though: the Apps, their code, and the KVRNL name, logo and website all belong to KVRNL, and the source code is not shared with anyone.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Apps for your own personal or internal business purposes, as long as you follow these Terms. Anything not expressly granted here is reserved by KVRNL.

2. Your account

You need a verified KVRNL account to claim license keys. Use a real email address that you control.
One account per person. Don't create extra accounts or use someone else's.
Keep your sign-in details safe — you're responsible for what happens on your account.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

3. License keys

License keys are issued through your verified KVRNL account and are tied to you.
One key is issued per account, per product. Keys are for your use only, and each key works on one computer at a time.
You may not sell, resell, sublicense, rent, share, or redistribute a key or an App, or attempt to generate keys outside of kvrnl.io.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or modify the Apps, or tamper with their licensing, activation, device-lock or update systems.
Crack or bypass licensing, share ways around it, or distribute modified versions of any App.
Abuse our support, our chat assistant, or other people — including spam, harassment, threats, or pretending to be someone else.
Use the Apps or the website to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.

5. No hacking or security testing

Do not attempt to infiltrate, penetrate, probe, scan, attack, overload, or otherwise abuse kvrnl.io, our servers and systems, or the Apps — whether for malicious purposes, for "testing" or research, or for any other reason whatsoever. That includes vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, guessing license keys or passwords, and flooding the site with automated requests. No one is authorized to test KVRNL's security, and any attempt is a serious breach of these Terms.

If you happen to come across a security problem, tell us through the contact page — and don't use it or share it with anyone.

6. Moderation: suspensions and bans

We actively moderate KVRNL to keep it safe and free for everyone. If we find that someone is abusing the website, the Apps, their license keys, or other people, or is otherwise breaking these Terms, we may act at our discretion, with or without warning:

Suspension: your account is paused for a set time. While it's suspended, your Apps, downloads and new claims stop working. Access comes back on its own when the suspension ends.
Permanent ban (termination): your account is shut down for good and your license keys stop working permanently. We may also block the devices or network addresses used for the abuse.
Key revocation: any key that's been shared, sold or misused can be revoked.

Things that lead to action include sharing or selling keys, having more than one account, abusive messages, tampering with licensing, and any hacking or security testing. Breaking the rules again after a suspension, or creating a new account to get around a suspension or ban, leads to a permanent ban. We keep a record of suspensions and bans, and the details needed to enforce them, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If your account is suspended or banned, we'll let you know by email, and you can send one appeal from your account page. We'll review it and reply by email; our decision after that review is final.

7. Updates

Apps may update themselves to deliver fixes and improvements. We may add, change, or discontinue features, Apps, or the website at any time.

8. No warranty

The Apps and website are free and are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that they'll be error-free, secure, uninterrupted, or compatible with your setup, that any App will stay available, or that you'll never lose data — so keep your own backups of anything important. You use them at your own risk, and if you're unhappy with an App, your only remedy is to stop using it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KVRNL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Apps or website.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using the Apps and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access as described in section 6. When your account ends, your license to use the Apps ends too, and the sections on ownership, no warranty, and limitation of liability still apply.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
